Therapy

For individual therapy, we are in-network and accept the following insurance:
-
Aetna
-
BlueCross BlueShield
-
United Healthcare
With everyone's insurance policy varying, you will have to call your policy to confirm eligibility, benefits, and determine payment. To do this, call the number on the back of your card and ask for mental health benefits. You will want to provide your provider's name and the CPT codes 90791 and 90837 for specific pricing.
For couples therapy, sessions are self-pay. When therapists bill insurance for couples therapy, the service code requires (1) one identified patient and (2) the reason for seeking treatment is this person's mental health diagnosis. This means that all documentation and treatment has to treat one person's issues, and it also impacts the legal rights of each of you. Unfortunately, this is not aligned with how I practice couples therapy, where we're looking at the relationship's dynamics and patterns as a whole without placing responsibility on a single diagnosis.
If applicable, you are welcome to use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA) for payment. We are also happy to provide you with a statement, also known as a "superbill", that you can submit to your insurance if you would like to attempt to receive reimbursement for seeing an out-of-network provider.
